As winter solstice brings the rebirth of spring, warmth and joy fill the air. On December 21, 2025, the day of the Winter Solstice, Zhongnai Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. hosted a "Warm Winter Solstice · Happy Dumpling Making" themed event in the company canteen. Employee representatives from various departments gathered together to make dumplings by hand, share stories, and welcome the arrival of this traditional solar term.
Laughter and Joy Fill the Air
At 10:00 a.m., the company canteen was already set up, with chopping boards, rolling pins, dumpling fillings, and other ingredients neatly arranged. Over 50 employee representatives from R&D, engineering, marketing, administration, and other departments donned aprons and divided into six groups for a friendly dumpling-making competition.
The atmosphere was lively and bustling. Some employees showed great skill — rolling wrappers, adding fillings, and pinching edges in one smooth motion. Others were first-timers, learning earnestly under the guidance of their colleagues. Before long, trays were filled with dumplings of all shapes and sizes — from traditional ingot-shaped ones to creative crescent-shaped ones — drawing laughter and applause from everyone.
"Take a look at my dumpling — how does it look?" said Master Li from the Engineering Department, holding up his creation with pride, earning a chorus of praise from those around him.
In his opening remarks, General Manager Zhang said: "The Winter Solstice is an important traditional festival for the Chinese people, with the saying 'The Winter Solstice is as significant as the New Year.' This dumpling-making event serves two purposes: first, to let everyone experience the cultural charm of this traditional festival, and second, to foster interaction and communication among colleagues, allowing everyone to feel the warmth of the company family amidst their busy work schedules."
It is understood that the company had specially prepared a variety of fillings, including pork with cabbage, chive with egg, and three-delicacy (seafood) fillings, to cater to different tastes. Once the dumplings were cooked, everyone sat together to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The steaming dumplings, paired with flavorful dipping sauces, brought warmth straight to their hearts.
Employees Share Heartfelt Feelings
After enjoying the dumplings, employees shared their thoughts. Xiao Liu, who had just joined the company a year ago, said: "This is my first Winter Solstice at the company. Making dumplings with everyone was so much fun — it really felt like being with family." Senior colleague Sister Zhang added: "This kind of activity is very meaningful. Usually, we're busy with work and don't have much time to talk. Today we had the chance to chat a lot and feel much closer to one another."
Many employees also took photos of the event and shared them on social media with captions like: "Winter Solstice welfare from the company — dumplings made with our own hands taste even better!"
